DIY sustainable products – Coffee Scrub

Ingredients –

  • ¾ cup of coffee grinds (ask your local café if they have used coffee grinds they are wanting to get rid of)
  • ¼ cup of sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon of coconut oil

Directions-

  1. Melt coconut oil and leave to cool but do not solidify
  2. Mix all ingredients together and store in an air tight container Keep in the fridge and use 1-2 times per week.

DIY Sustainable products- Bath salts

Ingredients-

  • 1 cup of Epsom salt
  • 1 tablespoon of baking soda
  • 1 table spoon of coconut oil
  • 5 drops of essential oil ( more or less depending how strong of a scent you want)

Directions –

  1. Melt coconut oil, let it cool but not solidify.
  2. Place all dry ingredients into a large bowl and mix
  3. Add coconut oil and mix lightly
  4. Add essential oil and mix lightly
  5. Put bath salts into an airtight container and store in a cool place

Time banks can be found all over New Zealand. A time bank works by giving your time and skills that can earn ‘time credits’. Time credits are used instead of money and can be used to ‘buy’ another person’s time and skills for a task you may need to complete. Check out http://timebanks.nz/timebanks

The Red Cross has stores, offices and events all over New Zealand that can always do with volunteers to help out at! Look up your local Red cross on their website and see what events or stores you can help out at https://www.redcross.org.nz/

Fale Pasifika O aoraki is not only a support system but also a community group for the Pasifika community located from Ashburton-Oamaru. This group allows you to connect with your Pasifika community and improve your wellbeing
